Sharon Foster

Sharon Lynn Foster (Carlson) passed away peacefully with grace on July 11, 2017 surrounded by her loving family at the Hospice House of North Idaho. She was born on March 27, 1938 to Rune Carlson and Hazel (DeBolt) Carlson. Sharon had an older brother Richard Carlson.

Sharon lived a full and happy life. She loved spending summers in Spokane with her Grandma DeBolt when she was younger. She was past Honor Queen with the Order of Job’s Daughters, she wore that crown with pride and beauty.

She met the man of her dreams, whom she didn’t like at first, in the 8th grade. Sharon and Robert Foster (Weiser) started a courtship that would last a lifetime and were married on March 9, 1957. They celebrated 60 years of wedded bliss with their family in March. They moved to Seattle after they got married and welcomed their first son, Jack William. After a year, they moved back to CDA to make it their lifetime home. They added 3 more kids to the mix during the years, Jay Patrick, Jeffrey Robert and Jodi Lynn.

Sharon was a stay at home mom, except for a few brief jobs while the kids where in school. She was the first woman to ever work at Hudson Hamburgers. She would always lend a helping hand to anyone else who needed her.

Sharon was the best mom to us kids and our friends. Many of our friends considered our home their second home and our parents as their mom and dad. We never knew how many kids would be sleeping in the living room when we woke up.

Sharon loved to read, even when she got a kindle, she still loved books. She also loved to knit afghans, sew clothes and Halloween costumes along with Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls. She was our main seamstress and altered many dance costumes.

She is survived by her husband and love of her life Robert, children and spouses: Jack (Heather) of Kalispell, Mt. Jay (Sandi-Sam), Jeff, Jodi (Mike) Van Dalsen of CDA. She is also leaves behind her very loved grandchildren, Shawna (KC) McDonald of Kalispell, Mt, Mike Foster, Hailey Foster and Jami Main all in CDA and great grandson Kason McDonald. Along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Sharon is preceded by both of her parents and brother, grandmother Harriet DeBolt and granddaughter Angela Foster.

We love you mom and are so blessed that we were chosen to be your children. You taught us so much and we will always have you with us in all that we do.

The family would love to thank Kootenai Health, Ivy Court for the care that was given to her during her short illness. And mostly to Manny Gladys Schniedmiller Hospice House for making her final hours peaceful and without pain.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to Hospice of North Idaho or Ivy Court.

Memorial Service will be 3:00 p.m. Friday July 21, 2017 at the English Funeral Chapel, 1133 N. 4th St., Coeur d'Alene, ID.
