Sharon Lee Geddes, age 81, of Coeur d’ Alene, passed from this life into the loving arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 15, 2024.
Sharon is survived by her two sons, Mike (Julie) Geddes of Lacey, WA and Nick (Julie) Geddes of Coeur d’ Alene, ID. Sharon also leaves behind her two younger sisters, Jo Ann Wahrer and Debbie Avant as well as her friend and sister-in-law, Sue Coffey and niece, Sylvia.
The daughter of Lee and Evelyn (Hodges) Wahrer, she was born in San Jose, CA where she graduated from Willow Glen High School and a few years later married her beloved life-long husband, Mike Geddes, who preceded her in death on January 3, 2020.
Sharon pursued her passion for teaching by completing a Bachelors Degree at San Jose State University and then teaching at various school districts including Live Oak School District in Santa Cruz, California and later in Coeur d’ Alene, ID. Her love of teaching didn’t stop at the public school district level but also her desire to share the love of Jesus with the children of Post Falls Baptist Church, along with her husband, Mike. She was dedicated to the spiritual growth of each child in her classroom through the AWANA program for 14 years. She also served on the Gideon's Auxiliary where she supported her husband in spreading the word of God to their local community.
Not to be over shadowed by her love of teaching, her love of music was equally as strong. She enjoyed the privilege of ministering to the congregations of Coeur d’ Alene Bible Church and Post Falls Baptist Church through the gift of music. She began playing her violin in elementary school and continued to play up to the last few years of her life.
While spending the last four years of her life at an assisted living facility, those who cared for her always used to mention how much they loved her smile and what a joy it was to care for her during those final years of life. For those who knew of her faith in Jesus, know that it’s not just her they are seeing but the image of Christ being displayed because of God’s sovereign work in her life.
Graveside service will be held Thursday, February 22 at 10 AM at the Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens Cemetery with a reception to follow at Hayden Bible Church on Miles Avenue.
