Sherman Richard Snyder of Hayden, Idaho passed away on Jan. 6, 2019, at Hospice. Sherm was born in Helena, Mt., in 1933, he was the son of Richard and Annabelle Snyder. His family later moved to Boise, Id. where he graduated from Boise High School in 1951. Sherm was commissioned in the United States Navy and became a Helicopter pilot. While stationed in Elizabeth City North Carolina he met the love of his life Aline Yvonne Bray. They were married for 57 years before Yvonne preceded him in 2013. Sherman’s military career spanned twenty four years where he served in Vietnam, became the Commanding officer of helicopter Squadron HS-3 and retired at the rank of Navy Commander. After retiring from the Navy, Sherm and family relocated to to Coeur d’Alene Idaho in 1974. Sherm enjoyed the outdoors, fly fishing and hunting; he also loved animals especially horses. Sherm is survived by four children; daughter Lisa, sons Timothy, Kenneth and Steven, nine grandchildren; Kara, Samantha, Nathan, Stephanie, Jonathan, Kathryn, Serena, Devin and Amanda and three great-grandchildren Lilah, Josie, and Annabelle.
