Steven Michael Miller, 59, of Spokane Valley, WA passed away peacefully on May 28th, 2016 into the arms of the Lord. He was born on August 15, 1956 in Pullman, WA. Steve graduated from Clarkston High School where he participated in Football, Basketball and Baseball all four years. He was known to his teammates as “Killer Miller” but at 6’9” tall, he was really a gentle giant. Steve was also active in Boy Scouts where he earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He graduated from Eastern Washington University with a degree in Geography. Upon graduation he worked for the Bureau of Reclamation as a surveyor for many years. He eventually moved to Spokane to work for Hasse Landscaping and then Clear Water Summit as a landscape foreman.
Steve was a positive, optimistic, outgoing friend, teammate, son, brother, uncle, husband and son of Christ. Steve is survived by his loving wife of twelve years, Debby Miller; brother, Scott Miller and wife Julia of Dallas, TX and their seven blended children and grandchildren; Joseph Robert “Bob” Oullette (James and Amber); Charles Chapman and wife Susan (Synthia and Charlie), Dawn Chapman and fiancé Isreal Freedom (Faith and Mantel), Derek Miller, William Ashway, Courtney Miller and Krysten Ashway Van Woerkom and husband, Mitchel Van Woerkom.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Janice Stevenson Miller of Spokane, WA and his father, Walter Henry Miller of Walla Walla, WA.
A celebration of life service will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 9th at the Valley Assembly of God Church, 15618 East Broadway Avenue, Spokane Valley, WA 99037.
