Thomas Randolph Mayberry, 68, passed away April 14, 2019, in his home. Born the youngest to Jean Balsiger and William Mayberry on Dec. 3, 1950, in Columbus, Ohio; Thomas was their only son.
He graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School in 1969 and continued his education at North Idaho College, obtaining a degree in industrial electronics in 1971. Shortly afterward he began his lifelong career of more than 30 years as a sawyer with Idaho Forest Industries, working at the DeArmond stud mill; continuing on as such under Stimson Lumber when purchased from the previous owners.
Tom was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed the richness that the North Idaho lifestyle offered with hunting, fly-fishing, hiking into alpine lakes and spending time on his property with family and his dog, Hailey.
He is survived by his children, Matthew Mayberry of Hayden, Idaho, David (Jennifer) Mayberry of Rathdrum, Idaho, and Katie (Scott) Byrne of Rathdrum; sisters, Norma Reid and Jean Kelley, both of Tacoma, Wash.; half-sisters, Lori Mayberry, Julie Cantrell and Amy Mayberry; granddaughters, Sierra and Brooke Mayberry (David and Jennifer), Samantha, Erin and Alyssa Byrne (Katie and Scott).
A celebration of life gathering and barbecue is set for noon to 3 p.m. on May 18, 2019, at the White Pine (Castle) Park, at 20th Avenue and Spokane Street in Post Falls, Idaho.
