Werner Janhsen

Werner Peter Janhsen born March 24, 1929, to Peter and Bertha in Augustfehn Germany along with Brothers Eibo, Bernard, Harold, and sister Magda. Werner married Helga Witke in 1957 and with son Herbert emigrated to Canada in 1958, subsequently emigrating to the USA and settling in Idaho in the late 1960’s where he built his own home by hand. He loved America and especially North Idaho but the home country always had a special place in is heart. Werner took great pride in the Hauser lake fire department, serving for many years as fire chief. The highlight of his year was always the breakfast with Santa fund raiser put on by the fire department dedicated to young children undergoing treatment. Werners claim to fame was his “special” pork sausage spice recipe he has provided since the first fundraiser over 30 years ago. Werner is survived by his wife Helga, son Herbert and sister Magda.
