Wesley Ira Drake

Wesley Ira Drake of Dalton Gardens, Idaho, longtime resident of Kootenai County ID and Stevens, County WA and Southern CA, passed away peacefully at the age of 96 on March 2, 2024. He passed at home, under the skilled care of North Idaho Hospice.
A beloved husband to Bernice (Dollar) Drake, father of Linda and Dennis, grandfather of Breena and Kendra and great grandfather to Elise, Evie and Bouden. Wesley was born January 10, 1928 in Tollerberg, Colorado, youngest of three sons of Ira Drake and Francis Bak. He graduated from high school in 29 Palms, CA and then joined the US Navy, serving in the South Pacific, at Guam for the duration of World War II.
Wesley supported his family over six decades owning several businesses including a filling station, custom cabinet shop, a home builder/remodeler and a land investor in 29 Palms, CA, Colville, WA. And Kootenai County, ID. After semi-retiring in 2003, Wesley and Bernice moved to Coeur d’alene, ID to be near to their daughter and her husband. Bernice preceded Wesley in death in 2009. His favorite hobbies were fishing, crafting wood and clay, tending many gardens and riding is lawn tractors.
