Skip spent a significant part of his life as a skilled Mechanic, where he spent countless hours in the shop, not only honing his craft but also enjoying the camaraderie of friends as they worked together on their vehicles. His soft-spoken nature made him the go-to person for advice, a testament to the trust and respect he earned from those around him.

A proud veteran, Skip served in the United States Marine Corps in Germany and later transitioned to the United States Army during the Vietnam War, where he developed a deep sense of pride for his service. Those who knew him held dear the fond memories made while boating on the lake, fishing, and trying to beat him on the golf course. He enjoyed motorcycles and hot rods, having restored several throughout the years. He also cherished the moments spent traveling, target shooting and riding with his friends.

Skip’s family was a source of great joy in his life. He is survived by his daughter, Michelle J. Guy-Anderson; his sons, William I. Guy Jr. and Ronald E. Mackin, step-daughter Shana R. Nicks; his sister, Ida (Candy); numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He shared a long-lasting friendship with his ex-wife, Janie (1976), whom he was married to for 29 years, he is also survived by the mother of his older children, Patricia (1965).

In addition to his surviving family, Skip was preceded in death by his parents, Robert D. Guy and Cora E. Miller-Kramer, along with his close brothers Robert and Michael, half-brother Charles, step-father Lester Kramer, and step-brother Donnie.
